Abstract

This study examines the travel patterns of residents in the outskirts of Kupang City, specifically in Taebenu District, Oeltua Village, with the aim of understanding their travel patterns and the factors influencing them. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Binary Logistic Regression Analysis. Results show that 53% of the population consists of students and 47% of workers, with 62.5% being male and 37.5% female. A total of 58% of respondents travel for work, 29% for school, and 13% for shopping, with 65.38% preferring motorcycles as their primary mode of transport. Most trips cover distances of 5-10 km, with peak departure times between 05:00-08:00 and return times between 13:00-16:00. Most respondents are aged 15-25 years (48%), and 38% have a source of income. In conclusion, the travel patterns are dominated by workers using motorcycles, with peak travel times in the morning and afternoon, contributing to traffic congestion during these hours. Of the five variables tested, only the "purpose of travel" variable is nearly significant in influencing the weekly frequency of travel, as travel patterns tend to be consistent every week.
