Abstract

It is intended to answer the following question (1) what are types of parallelism that exists in the tapoin fini and pen sufa discourses of meto people in naekake a village ? (2) what is the meaning contained in the form of the parallelism used in tapoin fini and pen sufa discourses of meto people in naekake a village ?. The objectives of this study are (1) to find out the types of parallelism that exists in tapoin fini and pen sufa discourses of meto people in naekake a village (2) to identify and describe the meaning contained in the parallelism used in tapoin fini and pen sufa discourses of meto people in naekake a village. The result of the study is useful for both academic world and the practical life of the society, especially the speakers of Meto Language. To inspire the writer in doing this study, a number of previous related studies were reviewed. To understand and direct the discussion of the study, a number of basic concept were defined. To analyze the data, the theory of cultural linguistic and parallelism were applied. The study is descriptive qualitative. The data were obtained through interview and recording. The data were analyzed through some steps : transcription, translating, and glossing. The data analysis presentation is in informal way. In line with the problem statement, some types and meaning of parallelism used in tapoin fini and pen sufa discourses of meto people in naekake a village were found. (1) Types of parallelism that exist in Tapoin Fini and Pen Sufa discourses of Meto People in Naekake A Village are phonological parallelism, syntactic parallelism, and synonymous (2) The meaning contained in the form of the parallelism in Tapoin Fini and Pen Sufa discourses of Meto People in Naekake A Village is relating to belief systems, surrender and application, and expression of gratitude. In line with the significance and the finding of the studysome suggestion are proposed (1) the experts of linfuistics and other related subjects are suggested to do continued study on similar study to confirm and extend the linguistics evedence in forms of parallelism of Meto Language (2) other researchers or researcher candidates are suggested to design and to conduct other researches focusing on other parallelism in Meto Language, beside parallelism used in tapoin fini and pen sufa discourses (3) An attemp was made to conduct excavation, documentation, and civilization in the use of expressions of parallelism in Meto Language on every discourse.
