Abstract

Cropping pattern is the arrangement of crop layout on a particular land in one cropping period, which aims to increase the productivity and income of farmers. In this discussion, researchers raised the issue of planting patterns in the Benanain Kiri Irrigation Area that are not appropriate, due to the lack of rainfall so that plants experience drought (fluctuations). The Benanain Dam sluice gate which should be opened 1 x 24 hours is only open 8 hours a day. This results in plants not getting maximum irrigation. This problem causes crop yields not as expected and even leads to crop failure. The purpose of this research is to determine the amount of irrigation water needed in plants and find a suitable planting pattern in the Benanain Kiri Irrigation Area. The method used in this research is Cropwat Version 8.0 software. The results of irrigation water requirements in MT I-Paddy amounted to 2.6796 ltr / sec / ha, MT II-Paddy amounted to 3.8921 ltr / sec / ha and MT III-Corn-Nuts amounted to 1.9021 ltr / sec / ha in corn crops and 2.9492 ltr / sec / ha in peanut crops with available water discharge of 123182.36 ltr / sec. Which means that the availability of water in the left Benanain irrigation area is sufficient for plant needs.
