Abstract
This study aims to address the lack of knowledge that makes it difficult for farmers to handle cocoa diseases in Turunalu Village. One of the obstacles in managing plant diseases is the lack of time available for experts, along with the inability of farmers to interact with cocoa disease specialists. We suggest the use of a forward chaining approach to create a web-based expert system as a strategy to overcome these problems. This system is designed following the ESDLC methodology and mostly uses PHP and MySQL. The stages of the development process are design, testing, documentation, planning, and data collection. The forward chaining methodology is chosen as the inference method to investigate anomalies in cocoa plants based on actual symptoms. Online software that can be used by farmers and the community to research cocoa plant diseases, symptoms, and treatments is the final product of this research.
