Abstract
his thesis is entitled "Women's Participation in the Development of Tiwatobi Village, Ile Mandiri Sub-district, East Flores Regency". The governance of development in the village area cannot be separated from the important role of participation or community involvement based on belief and awareness that comes from within themselves, thus enabling the community to have a sense of responsibility for their own area. Basically, women themselves also take part in the movement against injustice, especially in the women's movement to get the same rights as what men have, which is formed into a feminimsm movement defined in two fundamental beliefs about women's disadvantages that can and must be eliminated. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative which includes techniques for determining research informants, operational variables, data collection techniques, data analysis techniques. The results showed that (1) The decision-making process in village development still lacked representation of all women, and was not effective in overseeing women's programs, (2) The role of women in development is still not optimal because it is caused by minimal space and participation of women, (3) The position and recognition of women in village development already exists but theren is still a lack of awareness of women about the importance of women's roles in village development, (4) The process of exploitation of women's resources that has been carried out by the village government still does not touch most of the women in Tiwatobi village.
