Abstract

This research aims to overcome the problem of disease in coffee plants experienced by the community with a limited number of experts. This makes it difficult for people to consult on coffee plant diseases. Besides that, there are experts whose practical work hours are still limited. The solution to this problem is by designing a Web-based expert system application for diagnosing diseases in coffee plants. The system development method used is Expert System Life Cycle (ESLC). The stages of the ESLC method are analyzing system requirements, collecting knowledge that will be used as a knowledge base, creating a system flow design, conducting system testing, evaluating the system, and carrying out system maintenance. In designing this system, the PHP programming language is used with a MYSQL database and Forward chaining. The result of this research is an expert system application for diagnosing coffee plant diseases using a web-based forward chaining method. This application can help people diagnose diseases in coffee plants and their solutions and find out all information related to diseases in coffee plants. asing coffee production in the years to come.
