Abstract

The Batuputih State Junior High School (SMPN) still uses conventional methods in processing and delivering academic information and some use the Microsoft Excel application which has not been integrated, which also slows down the process of searching for data if needed at any time. To maximize this work, an Academic Information System is needed. which can simplify the process of processing academic data at SMPN Batuputih. This information system was designed using the PHP programming language supported by a MySQL database. In this research, the system development method used is the waterfall method. The use of the Academic Information System can be used as a complement or as an additional medium for conveying information so that later students and teachers can access this academic information system anywhere and at any time. Of course, this academic information system will overcome the problems that exist in the school. This research will produce an Academic Information System that can help and simplify the school environment in processing academic data and also make it easier to convey academic information such as: data on teachers, students, subjects, classes, lesson schedules, grades, announcements, news, student reports, and absent.
