Abstract

The development of science and technology in the modern era to make the educational world is experiencing many challenges in preparing human resources qualified and able to compete in a globalized world. Numerous attempts have been made to improve the quality of education in Indonesia such as the renewal of curriculum. The quality of education in Indonesia particularly in NTT is still very low. The most fundamental thing that caused a right still poor quality of this education is not yet a standardized path begins from the standard contents up to the standard of assessment. The low quality of the outputs/outcomes study is characterized by the inability of the majority of the students connect what they have learned by way of the knowledge utilization at this time and later in their lives. For that it needs a learning approach that is able to assume naturally, where mind searching for the meaning of context in accordance with the real situation of the environment of the learners, and it can occur through search relationship that makes sense and is useful. The intended approach is a contextual approach. A contextual approach is the concept of learning and teaching that helps teachers relate between the material he teaches real-world situations with students and encourage learners make connections between knowledge assets with its application in their lives as members of families, workers, and citizens Based on the description above, this research purposes in General is a describing learning outcomes by applying the contextual approach to the subject matter of geometric Optics on learners accredited Private HIGH SCHOOL grade X PGRI Kupang even semester year lessons 2015/2016. In particular research objectives can be outlined as follows: 1) Describe the ability of teachers in managing learning by applying the contextual approach to the subject matter of geometric Optics on learners accredited Private HIGH SCHOOL grade X PGRI Kupang even semester year lessons 2015/2016. 2) describes the completeness indicators of learning by applying the contextual approach to the subject matter of geometric Optics on learners accredited Private HIGH SCHOOL grade X PGRI Kupang even semester year lessons 2015/2016. 3) Describe the learning results completeness learners by applying the contextual approach to the subject matter of geometric Optics on learners accredited Private HIGH SCHOOL grade X PGRI Kupang even semester year lessons 2015/2016. 4) Describes the response of the students towards learning by applying the contextual approach to the subject matter of geometric Optics on learners accredited Private HIGH SCHOOL grade X PGRI Kupang even semester year lessons 2015/2016. There are at least 5) know the significant difference between the results of the study before and after the students were given preferential treatment by applying the contextual approach Geometry Optics material on learners Accredited Private HIGH SCHOOL grade X PGRI Kupang even semester year lessons 2015/2016. Type of this research is descriptive research. The subject of this research is the X-grade learners Accredited Private HIGH SCHOOL PGRI Kupang even semester year 2015/2016 lessons totalling 30 people and teachers (researchers). The device used is the learning materials learners (BAPD), syllabus, study implementation plan (RPP), learner worksheets (LKPD), lattice and tests the results of the study (THB). The design used in this study is a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design On desai was previously given preliminary tests after it was given preferential treatment and given the ultimate test. Data collection techniques research is the observation, tests and question form. As for the instruments used in this research is observational learning management sheet by applying the contextual approach to the subject matter of geometry, optics, test results of the learn (THB) and pieces of stuffing response learners. Technique of data analysis research is descriptive analysis by calculating the average value, percentages, proportions and values test t. The results of the descriptive analysis of the study data obtained the capability of teachers in managing learning physics subject matter includes geometry Optics study planning, implementation and evaluation of learning learning by obtaining an average score of succession is 4.00, 3.74 and 4.00. Indicators of the results of the study on the affective and psychomotor, products with the acquisition of an average score of 0.84, 0.86. 0.92. Learning Outcomes students in a class is said to be completely on the aspects of the product, the affective and psychomotor acquisition with an average score of succession was 0.84 0.84, and 0.92, and learner response against the execution of the study conducted by the teacher is very good with the acquisition of score average was 58.8%. Of research results obtained above can generally be inferred that the contextual approach can be applied to the subject matter of geometric Optics on learners Accredited Private HIGH SCHOOL grade X PGRI Kupang to get a more optimal learning outcomes.
