Abstract
The Tohe Leten community has a unique agricultural tradition, namely Sau Niki or bat harvest which is held every three years. This tradition is based on a myth. This research aims to reveal the rituals, implications, meaning of myth messages and communication phenomena in the Sau Niki tradition. To reach this goal, the research method used is the critical method. The data collection techniques used in this research are interview, group discussion, observation and document study. This research succeeded in finding myths as a communication system with a unique model. For the Tohe Leten community, myths are communication facilities filled with various messages about applied cultural philosophy, namely what is real and important such as truth and the meaning of life as well as alternative ways of being in the world, all of which are directed at sustaining education, technology and culture directed at improving welfare. Within the Sau Niki myth is a treasure trove of universal values that are still relevant for today's life. In addition, the Sau Niki tradition is a folk party that has positive implications for the economy, culture, tourism and community entertainment.
