Abstract

Malaka Regency is a new autonomous region with one of its basic sectors being agriculture. From 2012 to 2021, agricultural production in the form of rice, corn, and green beans always experienced increases and decreases. Several factors cause increases and decreases in food crop production, namely the conversion of land from agriculture to building land, the still high price of food on the market and increasing demand, as well as the population continuing to increase. For these reasons, a method is needed to predict the yield of food crops in Malaka Regency for the next 5 years. It can help the agricultural department make related decisions, to support the Regional Government in helping to provide the food needed for the local community. In this study, the multiple linear regression method was used to make predictions. The results with a coefficient of determination test of 0.918 showed that 91.8% of the variation in the dependent variable can be explained by the independent variables in the model. Apart from that, there were three statistical analyses used to see the performance of the multiple linear regression method, namely the MSE value of 69611782.304, RMSE of 8343.368, and MAE of 7327.695
