Abstract
In studying mathematics material, there are certainly learning obstacles that affect students'learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to analyze the learning obstacles experienced by students in the material of flat kites. This research was conducted in class VIIC at SMPK St Yoseph Noelbaki. In collecting data, researchers used observation, interview and test techniques. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive methods. The results of this research show that in studying kite plane material there are ontogenic obstacles related to students' mental readiness in participating in learning, didactic obstacles related to the presentation of the material by the teacher, and epistemological obstacles related to students' ability to understand concepts. Based on these conclusions, the researcher offers several recommendations to overcome existing obstacles, namely teachers sending material before learning, dividing the class into discussion groups and conducting evaluations after learning
