Abstract

The discipline of construction workers in using personal protective equipment is one of the determining factors in preventing workers from experiencing work accidents on construction work. This research aims to determine the relationship between construction workers' discipline in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the incidence of work accidents in the construction of the Bank NTT office building. The method used in this research is a correlational descriptive method using a quantitative approach. The number of workers working on the construction of the Bank NTT office building was 75 people using simple random sampling techniques. The data analysis used in this research was chi square with a significance level of α=0.05 (p-Value <0.05). Data was obtained through a questionnaire. Based on the research results, it was found that (17.3%) or 13 workers had experienced work accidents, while (82.67%) others had never experienced work accidents. The type of work accident most frequently experienced by workers was falls in 5 cases or (55.6%) while the rest (33.3%) were due to stepping on nails and (11.1%) being hit by material. Chi Square test results obtained p-Value 0.93 > 0.05. This means that there is no relationship between discipline in the use of personal protective equipment and work accidents in Bank NTT office building construction work. However, there needs to be increased supervision of the use of PPE and it is hoped that it will be increased according to the applicable SOP
