Abstract

The crime rate in human life is very high and is one of the social phenomena that is always faced by everyone, society, and the entire country. The magnitude of this crime is reflected in not being completely eradicated, but only preventable and mitigated. Crime requires serious attention because it has adverse effects and losses for nations, communities, and individuals. The formulation of the problem from this paper is how to handle motorcycle theft at the investigator level of the Tangerang-Banten Police Station. The type of research used is normative juridical research, which is research that focuses on examining the application of rules and norms in positive law. The results revealed that although the Tangerang-Banteng Police Station is gradually improving, there are still many shortcomings. The conclusion of this letter is that the crime is against the law, and the act does not violate the law. This article deals specifically with motorcycle crime. This crime is very heinous and always occurs in the surrounding community,especially in Tangerang City, Banten Province, so it is very difficult to minimize it. The efforts made by the police here have gradually improved, although many things have been improved, but there are still many shortcomings, such as: Facilities and infrastructure, quality membership, and this crime is increasingly caused by human nature that is never sufficient to meet its needs.
