Abstract

Road pavement is a crucial component of transportation infrastructure, impacting efficiency, safety, and maintenance costs. This study focuses on the performance analysis of Rounded Stone Quarry Takari as a substitute for coarse aggregate in HRS-WC and AC-WC asphalt concrete mixes using Marshall characteristics as the main parameter. Material samples were collected from Quarry Takari and tested at the Public Works and Housing Laboratory, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Test results indicate that both HRS-WC and AC-WC mixes do not meet the 2018 Revised 2 Bina Marga Specification standards for several Marshall parameters such as VMA, VFA, stability, and flow. Consequently, the optimum asphalt content (KAO) could not be determined for either mix. This research suggests that the use of rounded stone as a substitute for coarse aggregate needs further evaluation to identify alternatives that meet the required specifications for improving the quality and performance of asphalt concrete mixes.
