Abstract

Settlements on water in Indonesia face a number of complex challenges related to obtaining permits or obtaining legal aspects according to the law. This writing is made to show and explain that the existence of settlers on the water in the perception of existing law so that the community can realize that the existence of settlements like this also has legality.Meotde this research is normative research that refers to legal norms in the applicable legislation. In order to accommodate such circumstances, the legislators issued regulatory products including Law Number 1 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 27 of 2007 concerning Management of Coastal Areas and Small Islands and its derivative rules issued by the Minister of Agrarian Affairs / Head of the National Land Agency, namely Permen Number 17 of 2016 concerning Land Arrangement in Coastal Areas and Small Islands. Regulation of the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning Land Administration in Coastal Areas and Small Islands. Settlement on water is a phenomenon that is increasingly widespread in Indonesia, and regulations related to settlement permits on water have a very important role in maintaining the sustainability of settlement development.
