Abstract
Simultaneous equations are often encountered in engineering, including in the field of electricity, especially in electrical circuits. One method to determine the electric current in an electric circuit using the Gauss-Jordan method. The problem is how many iterations are needed by the Gauss-Jordan method to solve a simultaneous equation of an electric circuit. The purpose of this study in addition to calculating the value of the current in each loop of an electrical circuit, also knowing the number of iterations of the Gauss-Jordan method in solving a simultaneous equation generated from an electrical circuit. One iteration of the Gauss-Jordan process, namely: normalization of the matrix, then proceed to multiply the elements of the matrix with the normalized equation to produce the current matrix. The next step is to subtract the element matrix from the previous one with the current matrix to produce the next matrix. This reference is used to calculate the number of iterations of the Gauss-Jordan method. The results of the Gauss Jordan method process show that the number of Gauss-Jordan iterations solves simultaneous equations with the model of the electric circuit as many as n iterations. Where n is the number of loops of the electric circuit or the number of variables of the simultaneous equation. Simultaneous equation model in electric circuit is obtained by applying Kirchof's Law of Voltage and Kircof's Law of Current, obtained the equation of each loop in the electric circuit.
