Abstract

The mission is an essential element in the Church's tradition, rooted in the inclusive mission of Jesus, reflecting God's love and justice. Modern challenges such as relativism and technological dominance, religious communities need to revisit the spirit of their founders to ensure that their mission and spirituality remain relevant. This research employs a qualitative method to analyze the writings of Blessed Francis Palau and the Constitutions of the Carmelite Missionary Sisters, aiming to explore their theological teachings and spiritual practices. The focus of the study is the mission theology of Blessed Francis Palau, "The Mystery of Unity: Loving God and Neighbor," and its application in the lives of the Carmelite Missionary Sisters in addressing contemporary challenges. The findings show that the mission of Blessed Francis Palau emphasizes love for the Church as a member of the Mystical Body of Christ through the integration of love for God and neighbor, as well as a balance between contemplation and service. In conclusion, for Blessed Francis Palau, the Christian mission involves a combination of active service and contemplative life, where the sisters and all the faithful are expected to integrate love into prayer, faith, and service to reflect divine love in the world.
