Abstract

The final disposal site (TPA) in Kupang City is located in Alak District with an area of 9.14 Ha and has been operating since 1998. Waste that enters the TPA is directly disposed of to the waste storage area, causing accumulation. The most abundant type of waste is organic waste. The purpose of this study was to determine the bacteria found in the waste at the Alak TPA. The stages in this study are: Bacterial isolation, purification and identification. The results of the study were obtained from soil samples at the Final Disposal Site in Alak District, three isolates were found which were then identified to the genus level. The three isolates include: isolate BTB1 has similarities to the genus Azothobacter, BTB2 has similarities to the genus Azomonas, and BTB3 has similarities to the genus Xanthobacter.
