Abstract

The use of the Ende Lio language has been declining among the young generation who have migrated to other areas since childhood, which has made the young generation stammer in using their own regional language. In addition, Ende also has superior natural and cultural tourism in the form of the Kelimutu lake and traditional villages which increase the interest of tourists to visit and are interested in learning certain vocabulary which can make it easier to communicate with local residents when negotiating merchandise or just asking about cultural life. or local customs. This study utilizes the Natural Language Translation Method (Rule Based) and applies to a system designed by implementing a pattern on the rules of the source language and target language as well as dictionary data for each word in the two languages, where each word is translated one by one and then rearranged based on the language rules standard and will cut unnecessary affixes for each word. This website-based system built is a one-way translator application. Based on the test results, the application can translate basic words, affixed words, simple sentences without clauses, and simple sentences with one clause
