Abstract

This research is based on the issues faced by Bank Sampah Mutiara Timor. The waste bank encounters challenges in unclear accounting, including the lack of standardized customer savings records. Additionally, the waste bank lacks a digital platform to disseminate information related to its activities. This study aims to design and develop the Waste Bank Information System (SIAP Bank Sampah) to address accounting issues by implementing a single-entry bookkeeping accounting system and, simultaneously, to serve as a digital platform for information dissemination to the public. This information system is developed using the Extreme Programming (XP) software development model. XP is a software development method that emphasizes team collaboration, flexibility, and responsiveness to changing customer needs. The designed information system is expected to improve efficiency in systematic accounting recording and maintain good bookkeeping quality. The success of this system can transform Bank Sampah Mutiara Timor into a sustainable business unit addressing economic and environmental issues in the city of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province.
