Abstract

Infrastructure development is one of the priorities in improving the quality of life of the community. However, in its implementation, development projects that require land acquisition often cause problems, especially related to the provision of fair and timely compensation to landowners. The Liliba Bridge construction project is a real example of this issue, where affected landowners often feel that they do not receive compensation equivalent to the losses they have experienced, both in terms of economy, social, and culture. This study aims to analyze the implementation of compensation in the Liliba Bridge construction project, as well as the perspectives and responses of landowners to the lack of compensation they have received. In this study, a descriptive approach was used to explore various aspects related to the land acquisition and compensation process, which refers to Presidential Regulation Number 71 of 2012. The results of the study show that although the regulation has provided clear guidelines, in practice there are various obstacles that hinder the implementation of effective compensation, such as delays, compensation values that are considered unfair, and lack of communication between the government and affected communities. Landowners tend to respond to this injustice with rejection, protest, or even lawsuits.
