Abstract

SMP Negeri SATAP Lorobauna is the junior high school located in the border of Indonesia and Timor Leste. This school has 79 students consisting of 41 male students and 38 female students. Teachers in this school complain about the lack of students’ efforts towards specific subjects. One of the reasons for this is that the limitation in presenting the teaching materials using Microsoft Power Point. Some teachers even only make use of guidance books for the subjects without any presentation slides when delivering the teaching materials to students. The solution for this issue is that the use of AI applications such as ChatGPT, TomeApp and Canva including inserting supporting interactive videos from the internet like YouTube into the teaching materials. The purpose of training in the use of AI applications for the teachers of SMP Negeri Satap Lorobauna is to assist teachers in developing good and engaging learning materials for students. This training is designed to ensure that teachers understand AI concepts and can effectively integrate them into their learning contexts. Evaluation results after the training show that the training of the use of AI applications for 16 teachers in SMP Negeri SATAP Lorobauna, Malaka Regency is successful. The teachers are able to understand and use AI applications in preparing teaching materials. Age factor affects the learning process of the teachers especially some senior teachers. They need more time and intensive attention compared to young teachers.
