Abstract

State Vocational High School 2 Kupang located on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Fatubesi Village, Kupang City is one of the favorite Vocational High Schools in Kupang City. With the number of students in 2075 which were divided into 1827 male students and 203 female students, they were divided into 63 study groups and were taught by 158 teaching staff. Has 3 scientific groups consisting of majors in building, electrical engineering and survey mapping. With an accredited B grade school, SMK Negeri 2 is a favorite and a destination for junior high school students to continue their studies. The majors provided are Building Construction, Sanitation and Maintenance (KGSP), Road Irrigation and Bridge Construction (KJIJ), Survey and Mapping (Geomatics), Audio Video Engineering (TAV), Electrical Power Installation Engineering (TITL), Renewable Energy Technology (TET). ), Mechanical Engineering (TP), Welding Engineering (TLAS), Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR), Motorcycle Engineering and Business (TBSM), Multimedia (MM). With a variety of majors, it is easier for students to distinguish majors of interest. One of my favorite majors is Geomatics which studies the basics – mapping, which is related to Geographic Information Systems. Geographic Information System, hereinafter referred to as GIS, is a computer-based information system used to store data and process geographic information data. As a system, GIS consists of several functional elements that have specific tasks. GIS elements include data input, data management, data analysis and information output (output). Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS) is a geographic information system (GIS) that allows users to load maps with multiple layers using various map projects. QGIS itself is an application that can be used for free and is the easiest GIS application to use compared to other GIS applications.
