Abstract

The purpose of this study is to restore the sacred value of leadership in the original goverment of the Biboki Kingdom. The sacredness of leadership in the original government of the Biboki Kingdom is important to be restored because it is the basis for the cultural values that exist in the Biboki Kingdom. This sacred value of leadership that is considered good, is now threatened with extinction because most of the leaders and people of the Kingdom of Biboki no longer live it in their lives. The decline of the sacredness of leadership also threatens the existence of the Biboki Kingdom because the sacred value of leadership is born and grows together with the establishment of the Biboki Kingdom government. This research was carried out in the Biboki Kingdom, especially in the Tamkesi Traditional Village which is the center of the Biboki Kingdom. The Biboki Kingdom is located in North Central Timor Regency. The location of the Kingdom of Biboki is adjacent to the Kingdom of Insana and North Belu (Fialaran). The Biboki Kingdom center is Tamkesi. The local government of North Central Timor Regency has designated the village of Tamkesi as Desa Adat. Tamkesi is located on the back of two rock mountain peaks, namely Tapenpah and Oepuah. The two stones symbolize the cosmic dualism that nature is always two sides: feto-mone (female and male), olif-tataf (sister-brother), EastWest and North-South. The highest leader in the Biboki Kingdom is a king and is called Koko which means King Biboki. Koko (Raja Biboki) was chosen based on the patrilineal lineage. Koko (Raja Biboki) is a central sanctity of the Biboki community because in the original government system of the Biboki Kingdom, status as a leader is considered sacred. The Biboki community also respects other traditional leaders as a sacred person because the status of the leader is obtained from Uis Neno which means Lord of Heaven. The core sructures in the original government of the Biboki Kingdom include: Koko (King of Biboki), Klunin Boes Baat Boes, which means Ten mainstays for the king and ten roots that revive the Biboki community, Mone ha Nai ha, which means four men and four men, Amaf Paisanaunu and Amaf Belsikone which are the backbone of the Kingdom of Biboki and Toh ma Tafa which means the people and the people of Biboki. The sacred values of leadership contained in the original goverment of the Biboki Kingdom are the basis for family values, values of togetherness, values of justice, values of love, and values of leadership which are also found in the culture of the Biboki community. The sacred value of leadership in the Biboki community does not conflict with the way of leadership taught by Jesus Crist. A leader in the Biboki Kingdom is a person who must have self-integrity, morality, spirituality and have a gentle and humble attitude as Jesus Christ is humble and meek (Matt. 11.29). This is a measure for the Biboki community to give respect to their leaders. The essence of sacred values of ladership in the Biboki community and maintaing the existence of the Biboki Kingdom.
