Abstract

This study is entitled, Benefits of the Development of a Cross-Border Post (PLBN) for the Napan Village Community, RI-RDTL Border Area, North Bikomi District, TTU Regency. The formulation of the problem in writing this thesis is How are the Factual Benefits of the PLBN for the Napan Village Community, RI-RDTL Border Area, North Bikomi District, TTU Regency. To explain the formulation of the problem above, the theory used in this study is the Benefits of the Development of a Cross-Border Post (PLBN) for the Napan Village Community, RI-RDTL Border Area, which refers to the social and economic aspects of the community on the border. The method used in this study is Descriptive Qualitative. The primary data source is data obtained directly from respondents/informants while secondary data are documents or photos related to the research variables. Data collection techniques, namely; interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis stage is carried out through the process of compiling, sorting and processing data. The variables in the study are directed at the social and economic aspects of the border community. The results of the study show that the existence of the PLBN has a positive impact on, 1) Education: The existence of the PLBN encourages increased awareness of the importance of education, although there is still a shortage of educators at the PAUD and SD levels. 2) Health: Health facilities are available and access to services has increased, although there is still a shortage of medical equipment and medicines for emergency response. 3) Infrastructure: The construction of the PLBN accelerates the improvement of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and housing, although village roads and telecommunications networks still need attention. 4) Mobility of Goods and Services: Economic activities are still local, but the PLBN has strategic potential in supporting cross-country mobility in the future. 5) Center for Economic Growth: The PLBN is a trigger for new economic growth through increasing MSMEs, export-import activities such as "Kutulaka", and business opportunities that increase community income. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the construction of the PLBN in Napan Village has made a real contribution to improving the quality of life of border communities through progress in the education, health, infrastructure, and mobility of goods and services sectors. In addition, PLBN also encourages the growth of new economic centers that strengthen community business activities and open up opportunities for cross-border trade, making it a driver of socio-economic development in the RI-RDTL border area.
