Abstract

In this research, researchers used role theory (Tesoriero and Frank in Angelica 2024) using 3 indicators, namely facilitator role indicators, educational role indicators and representational role indicators. The technique for determining informants is Purposive Sampling. The data sources used are primary and secondary data sources. Methodologically, the research uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques using interview, observation and documentation methods. In this qualitative research, the focus of the research is how the P2KB Service carries out its role in preventing stunting in Kupang City. The research results show that the role of the P2KB Service has been carried out well, but more optimal efforts are still needed so that the City of Kupang is free from stunting. The role of this research recommends the need to increase education with an approach that is more appropriate to local needs, the need for a direct approach with the community to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of preventing stunting, as well as carrying out continuous monitoring to ensure long-term impacts in changing community behavior and the importance of the Government improving the data collection system that includes population migration. Meanwhile, immigrants need to be involved in stunting prevention programs.
