Abstract
Road pavement is a key infrastructure that serves as a link between regions, requiring a good surface condition to support smooth transportation. However, increased traffic volume, environmental conditions, and weather changes can cause damage to the road surface. Therefore, the selection of road pavement aggregates must be based on laboratory test results. This study aims to identify the physical characteristics of aggregates from the Nangapanda quarry before they are used in Asphalt Concrete–Binder Course (AC BC) pavement mixtures. Test results show that these aggregates have low porosity, making them more resistant to environmental changes and contributing to pavement structure stability. Additionally, the aggregates exhibit high resistance to mechanical damage. The AC-BC test mixes were prepared with planned asphalt contents of 4%, 4.5%, 5%, 5.5%, and 6%. From the Marshall tests with these planned asphalt contents, the optimum asphalt content (OAC) was determined to be 5.35%.
