Abstract
This study aims to explain the process of the Hamis Batar No Hatama Manaik tradition in Kamanasa Village, Malaka Regency; to explain the meaning of symbols in the Hamis Batar tradition and the meaning of Hatama Manaik in the institutionalization of preservation in Kamanasa Village, Malaka Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants in this study include the Strengthening aspect: Indicators: Intensity of family meetings, socialization of the existence of traditions to families/communities; Recognition aspect; Indicators: accepted and carried out Traditional ceremonies/rituals carried out by leaders and communities, Determination of Sanctions and Obedience to sanctions; Value Inheritance aspect Indicators: Consistency in carrying out ceremonies/rituals, Values/Norms believed by traditional leaders and communities/followers. Role models/exemplary behavior. The results of the study indicate that the process of institutionalization of the Hamis Batar and Bata Manaik traditions consists of three aspects, namely the aspects of strengthening, recognition and role models or role models; the strengthening aspect consists of two indicators, namely (a) the intensity of tribal family meetings; in the process of institutionalizing traditions, through the traditional rituals of Hamis Batar and Bata Manaik, it can create strengthening of community identity and become a symbol of cultural identity that binds the community and strengthens the sense of togetherness; (b) socialization of the existence of traditions to families/communities; with the process of the existence of institutionalization of traditions and socialization of the existence of traditions through Hamis Batar and Bata Manaik, there is a close relationship in preserving and developing the cultural traditions of the community; The aspect of recognition with two indicators, namely (a) Accepted by the Community and recognized by the Community; the process of institutionalizing the Hamis Batar and Bata Manaik traditions is accepted by the community to become stronger and more solid in maintaining and preserving culture (b) Determination of Sanctions and Compliance with Sanctions; the process of institutionalizing the Hamis Batar and Batar Manaik traditions has an important role in determining sanctions and compliance with sanctions. This helps maintain the continuity and honor of traditional traditions, and ensures that community members comply with the rules and norms related to these traditions; The inheritance aspect with three indicators (a) consistency in carrying out ceremonies/rituals; the process of institutionalizing the traditional traditions of Hamis Batar and Batar Manaik has an important role in maintaining the consistency of carrying out ceremonies/rituals, so that traditions can continue to develop and be maintained; (b) values/norms by the community and traditional leaders; the process of institutionalizing the traditions of Hamis Batar and Batar Manaik has an important role in maintaining and developing values/norms by the community from traditional leaders can continue to develop (c) role models/exemplary behavior has an important role in the process of institutionalizing the traditions of Hamis Batar and Batar Manaik and helps preserve and develop these traditions among the community.
