Abstract

Hepatitis disease is swelling of human heart, with various symptoms, ranging from mild to death. This disease caused by a virus, excessive use of drugs and consuming lots of alcohol, foods containing chemicals, with rapid onthe-fly transmission due to a lack of community knowledge of the symptoms of hepatitis and how to prevent it. The purpose of this research is to build an expert system in diagnosing hepatitis disease using forward chaining method where facts and system knowledge are obtained from a specialist who has expertise in diagnosing hepatitis. The design of this expert system is web-based with PHP programming language and database storage using MySQL. This system facilitates the work of doctors in providing services to patients and help people in knowing the type of hepatitis disease and how to prevent it.
