Abstract

The city of Ende became a historical city for the birth of the Pancasila. In 1934 Bung Karno was exiled by the Dutch East Indies government. The old city area of Ende was a characteristic of the Dutch East Indies government because of its location on the coast and its main function as a trading area and port. In supporting the old city area of Ende, it needs building and environmental planning in the old city area so that it can optimize the potential of the area and overcome the problems of the old city area so that the realization of the old city area of Ende has a good city image. To make it happen, the physical elements of a city need to be designed so that the planning and design of the old city area of Ende can be seen visually in the form of land use, building shape and mass, pedestrian paths, open space, circulation and parking, markers, supporting activities and preservation. In a sustainable architectural approach to support building and environmental planning with principles such as efficiency of land use, efficiency of energy use, use of renewable materials, waste treatment is the rationale for design concepts in realizing the results of planning and designing the old city area of Ende
