Abstract

The Dheli Dhozo song is a traditional song originating from Tarawali village, So'a sub-district, Ngada district. This song is usually performed in a harvest thanksgiving ceremony, which is held from noon to evening, at the end of February to the beginning of March. Many young people today do not know the meaning and form of presentation of the Dheli Dhozo song. The problems raised in this study are (1) What is the meaning contained in the Dheli Dhozo song, (2) What is the form of presentation of the Dheli Dhozo song. The objectives of this study are (1) to find out the meaning contained in the Dheli Dhozo song of the Tarawali village community, So'a sub-district, Ngada district, (2) to find out the form of presentation of the Dheli Dhozo song of the Tarawali village community, So'a sub-district, Ngada district. This study uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the Dheli Dhozo song has a deep meaning of gratitude and happiness for the harvest, and symbolizes harmony between humans, nature, and ancestors. In this song there are denotative, connotative, and symbolic meanings. The form of presentation of the Dheli Dhozo song consists of three parts, namely the preparation stage of utu tiwo (deliberation with the community), le fuga (preparing ingredients for offerings), dhara manu (burning chicken offerings), fedhi ebu (giving offerings to ancestors), fedha pata (announcing the implementation of Dheli Dhozo), the core stage is the Dheli Dhozo song, and the closing stage is wesa wae nio (sprinkling coconut water).
