Abstract
Education is the process of learning knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people that are passed down from one generation to the next through systematic teaching, training, and research. According to Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the national education system, education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have spiritual religious strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble morals, and skills needed by themselves, society, nation, and state. This research aims to, 1) determine the ability of teachers in managing learning with the inquiry-based learning model using PhET simulations on gas kinetic theory material at SMA Negeri 9 Kupang, 2) evaluate the learning outcomes of students using the inquiry-based learning model with PhET simulations on gas kinetic theory material at SMA Negeri 9 Kupang, 3) assess the interest in learning Physics among students using the inquiry-based learning model with PhET simulations on gas kinetic theory material. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 9 Kupang. The research method is Pre-Experimental with a one-shot case study design, specifically the one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consists of 21 students from class XI IPA2. Data collection techniques include test questions and observation. The results show that learning outcomes improved with an N-Gain score of 0.65, indicating a moderate level. The interest in learning among students has a percentage of 73% with moderate criteria, and the teachers' ability to manage learning has a percentage of 92% with very high criteria.
