Abstract

This study was written by Arnoldus Primus Nuwa (31120070), Development Economics Curriculum, under the supervision of Ms. Yuike Tie Justine Dima, S.E., ME as Supervisor I, and Ms. Eunike Tje Yustin Dima, S.E., ME as Supervisor II with the title "Community Engagement in Infrastructure Development in Takatunga Village, South Golewa District, Ngada District". The purpose of this study is to describe the form of community involvement in the development of rural infrastructure. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection methods in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants in this study include the village chief, the village secretary, members of the BPD and the general public. Data analysis is carried out in three stages, namely data synthesis, data presentation, conclusion and verification. This study aims to analyze community participation in infrastructure development in Takatunga Village, South Golewa District, Ngada District. The results of the study showed that participation was quite high, especially in the form of labor through mutual cooperation, laying pipelines, building water tanks, and roadworks on farms, although participation was unevenly distributed. Support in the form of money is not provided, because the budget of the village is sufficient, but the community contributes in the form of consumption and equipment. Constraints include low awareness, employment, lack of information, lack of skills, lack of citizen involvement in planning, economic problems, lack of motivation and conflict. Driving factors include an awareness of the benefits of development, a culture of mutual cooperation, role models for village leaders and authorities, and a sense of belonging. Rural government acts as an organizer, facilitator, motivator, resource provider, and role model that encourages citizen participation. Successful development can be achieved by strengthening drivers, lowering barriers, and actively participating in the planning phase.
