Abstract
The Rabeka Dance is a traditional dance of the Amarasi people of Kupang Regency. Its existence has declined due to the changing times. Preservation of the Rabeka Dance should begin with the community, through studios and schools targeting the younger generation, one of which is SMA Negeri 1 Amarasi. During art performances or practical exams at school, they usually only present creative dances from the Rote and Bajawa regions, while traditional dances, especially the Rabeka Dance, are rarely performed. The problems in this study are 1. What is the form of the Rabeka Dance, 2. How is the learning process of the Rabeka Dance, and 3. What are the learning outcomes of the Rabeka Dance among students of SMA Negeri 1 Amarasi Selatan. The purpose of this study is to determine the form of the Rabeka Dance, describe the learning process and the learning outcomes of the Rabeka Dance among students of SMA Negeri 1 Amarasi Selatan. The approach in this study is a qualitative approach with a field action method. The subjects in this study were ten students of grade XII, consisting of five male dancers and five female dancers. Data collection was obtained through field studies through observation, interviews and documentation. The learning process of the Rabeka traditional dance is divided into three stages: the initial stage which is the recruitment of dancers and the practice schedule, the core stage which is learning the Rabeka dance and the final stage which is done by taking videos. In the practice process, many obstacles were experienced, such as inefficient practice time and lack of practice time making it not in accordance with the desired time. The practice process took approximately 2 weeks by utilizing the time as much as possible to practice each movement pattern in the Rabeka dance. During the training process, attention must be paid to movement patterns and supporting elements of the dance. The results of the Rabeka Dance learning process show that teaching the traditional Rabeka dance using the drill and imitation method for students at SMA Negeri 1 Amarasi Selatan is more effective because repeated practice accelerates students' memorization and understanding of the dance movements.
