Abstract

The background of this study was the decrease of employees’ performance, influenced by the estimated factors such as individual competence, discipline, management support, and working motivation. The following were the stated problems: 1) What is the condition of employees performance, individual competence, discipline, management support, and working motivation? 2) Do the individual competence, discipline, management support, and working motivation partially influence significantly the employees’ performance? 3) Do the working motivation influence significantly the employees’ performance? The population in this study was 34 Pelangi Hotel employees, and all were taken as sample (population sample). The data were collected using a questionnaire and interviewing 4 employees as the respondents’ representatives. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS). The results of descriptive statistics showed that the individual competence was categorized as very good (87,12%), discipline (73,65%), management support (69,00%), working motivation (71,25%), and performance (74.90%) were categorized as good. The results of SmatPLS indicated that individual competence (X1) had a significant influence towards working motivation (Y1), and individual competence (X1) had a significant influence towards the employees’ performance (Y2). The discipline (X2) had insignificant influence towards working motivation (Y1), and also had insignificant influence towards the employees’ performance (Y2). The management support (X3) had insignificant influence towards working motivation (Y1), but had a significant influence towards the employees’ performance (Y2). The working motivation (Y1) had a significant influence towards the Hotel Pelangi employees’ performance (Y2). Referring to these results, it is recommended to the management of Pelangi Hotel to raise the employees’ working motivation and performance by focusing on the individual competence and management support as means to enhance the employees’ performance.
