Abstract
Based on observations and interviews with science subjects teachers at SMPK St. Yoseph Naikoten Kupang, found some problems in learning that students are less enthusiastic when the learning activities take place that can result in low student learning outcomes. For that diperluhkan learning model that can improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together type of student learning outcomes class VIII on the subject matter of the respiratory system in humans. The type of research used in this study is pre-experiment and the research design is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and data collection techniques used were observation and test. The results showed that the average completeness of student learning outcomes 84.46 and 92.85% classical completeness. The mean completeness of the proportion of the indicator is 0.85, and the mean sensitivity of the item is 0.46 so it has an effect in the learning. The average completeness of student activity instrument reliability 93,4, and the mean of complete of learning management by teacher 98,15. The conclusion of this research is that the application of cooperative learning model type Numbered Heads Together effective to the result of student learning of class VIII on subject matter of human respiration system at SMPK St. Yoseph Naikoten Kupang Academic Year 2017/2018.
