Abstract

This research was written by Maria Klarista Goba (31116038), Development Economics Study Program. Supervisor I Daniel Taolin, SE, M.Sc and Supervisor II Emiliana Martuti Lawalu, SE, ME. Title "The Participation of Women Street Vendors in Improving Household Economy Before and After Covid-19" (Case study in the Oeba traditional market). The formulation of the research problem is as follows: 1. How big is the contribution of the role of women street vendors to the household economy, before and after the co-19 in the form of income, expenditure and saving? 2. What are the supporting and inhibiting factors in carrying out the role of women as street vendors? The purpose of this study is 1) To determine the contribution of income, saving and spending of women street vendors in improving the household economy before and after Covid-19. 2) To find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in carrying out the role of women as street vendors. The analytical method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data with research subjects namely women traders in the traditional Oeba market, amounting to 50 respondents. The results of the study show that 1. The condition of co-19 greatly affected the contribution of women street vendors in improving the household economy in the form of income, expenses and saving, and this was very inversely proportional to the situation before co-19. The average contribution of women street vendors in improving the household economy before co-19 in the form of income, a maximum of Rp 10,000,000 and a minimum of Rp 500,000 per month but, after covid-19 income a maximum of 2,000,000 and a minimum of Rp 500,000 per month. The average contribution of merchant women before co-19 in the form of expenditure, a maximum of Rp 5,000,000 and a minimum of Rp 1,000,000 per month but, after covid-19 the average expenditure was a maximum of Rp 1,800,000 and a minimum of Rp 250,000 per month. The average saving is a maximum of Rp. 5,000,000 and a minimum of Rp. 500,000 per month but, after co-19 women traders do not have savings in a month. 2. There are several supporting and inhibiting factors in carrying out the role of women street vendors, where the supporting factors are self-impetus, economic need impulses and environmental encouragement. While the inhibiting factors are, income is reduced, the amount of competition, the lack of experience in trading. The government is expected to pay more attention to facilities selling in the market, security, and carrying out the function of control (monitoring of public facilities). With the covid-19 seller and buyer are expected to obey the government's appeal.
