Abstract

The general purpose of this study is "Describe the results of the application of the Discovery Learning model. In detail can be described as follows: (1) Describe the ability of teachers in managing learning activities by applying the Discovery Learning model (2) Describe the completeness of learning outcomes indicators by applying the Discovery Learning model (3) Describe the completeness of student learning outcomes by applying the Discovery Learning model ( 4) Describe students' responses to learning activities by applying the Discovery Learning model. This type of research is descriptive. Includes describing the ability of teachers in managing learning activities in the classroom, completeness of indicators, learning outcomes of students and responses of students. The technique of combining descriptive analysis data. This type of research is descriptive and the subject of this research is the teacher (researcher) and students of class VIII F of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the 2018/2019 academic year totaling 32 people. While the instrument used in this study is the Learning Management Observation Sheet by applying the discovery learning model to the subject matter of Newton's Law, learning outcomes test (product, affective and psychomotor) and students' response sheet. Data collection techniques used are observation, tests and questionnaires. The results analysis technique used is descriptive analysis which includes calculating the average score, percentage, and proportion. Based on the results of the data analysis, the research found that in general the application of discovery learning learning model to the subject matter of Newtn Law on students of class VIII F of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang in the 2018/2019 school year which amounted to 32 people was optimal. In this case, 1). The ability of teachers to manage learning activities by applying the Discovery Learning Learning Model which includes: planning learning tools, implementing learning and evaluating learning is in a good category. 2). Most learning outcome indicators (products) prepared are complete. 3) The average student learning outcomes (products) are all complete. 4) The response of students to the implementation of learning activities carried out by the teacher covering five aspects, namely: preliminary activities with good categories, core activities with good categories, closing activities with very categories, good time management with good categories and good category atmosphere. so that students' responses to learning activities are in a positive category.
