Abstract

Contextual approach is a learning that emphasizes the process of full involvement of learners to be able to find material that is learned and enhance it with real world situations so a to encourage students to apply in the their lives, involving seven main components of the contextual approach. The purpose of this study was “to describe the results of the applications of the contextual approach to the subject matter of heat and its displacement in class VIIC odd semester Kupang Middle Scholl 12” in detail the objectives of this study are 1. Describe The teacher’s ability to manage learning activities by applying contextual approaches to the subject matter and the transfer to students in the VIIC class; 2 describe the completeness of learning outcome indicator (IHB) in learning by applilying the contextual approach to the subject matter; 3 Describe the learning outcomes of students in learning by applying the contextual approach to the subject matter of heat and its displacement in student of class VIIC ; 4. Describe the response of students to learning activities by applying the contextual approach to the subject matter of heat and its transfer to VIIC class students. The type of research is descriptive research (Researchers) and students of class VIIC kupang 12 Junior Hight School in 2018/2019 academic year, amounting to 31 people. Learning tools used are teaching materials of students syllabus, learning implementation plans, student worksheets, questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. The teahnique used is the learning management observation sheet. Test of learning outcomes. And student response sheets. The data analysis teachnique of this research is descriptive analysis by calculating the average value of percentages and proporting Based on the results of the descriptive analysis of research data it was found that in general the application of the contekstual approach was good. The teacher’s ability to manage learning includes: planning and evaluation of leaning an average score of 3,94, 4,00, and 3,78 learning objectives with an average score 3,78 and including good categories. The prepared learning outcomes indicator (IHB) was lagely completeness of 0,80 exceeded the minimum complete and there is an increase in correct answer from 0,36 to 0,80 with an increase of 0,44.
