Abstract

Discovery learning is a learning model that emphasizes on student-centered activity where an educator only provides raw information or outline concepts so that students can find out for themselves and can solve the given problem or draw conclusions. Based on 4 aspects of the study, namely: the ability of educators to manage learning, completeness of student learning outcomes indicators, completeness of learning outcomes and students' responses to Discovery Learning learning models of simple machine subject matter for students of class VIII B Kupang 1 State Junior High School 2018/2019 school year. Whereas for the purpose of the study is to describe the ability of educators in the learning process, describe the completeness of learning outcomes indicators, describe learning outcomes, and describe students' responses in the application of the Discovery Learning learning model of simple machine subject matter to students of class Kupang 1 State Junior High School odd semester 2018/2019. This research is a descriptive study, subjects in this study are educators (researchers) and students of class VIII B Kupang 1 State Junior High School odd semester of academic year 2016/2017 Kupang totaling 32 learners. Learning device used in this study are as follows: Subjects of Students, Learning Implementation Plan, Worksheet Students, Sheet Discussion of Students, Grating Test Results Learning and Test Learning outcomes. The results showed that the ability of educators in managing learning with the planning stage was 3.98, implementation, planning was 3.93, evaluation planning was 4.00 and the evaluation was 3.93, the completeness of the cognitive learning outcome indicators was 0.88, completeness of cognitive learning outcomes is 0.86, and the response of students to implementation is 98%.
