Abstract

The contextual approach is a learning concept that is used by the teacher to associate material with the real world so that with this concept students can find and experience their own learned material that relates to real world situations so that they can encourage them to apply it in their lives as family members,citizens and labor. The main problem in this study is how do the results of the application of contextual approaches to the subject matter of light of students in grade class VIIIB of SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah Kupang in the school year2017/2018? In detail the problems in this study are: (1) How is the abillity of educators to manage learning by applying contextual approaches to the subject matter of light of students in grade class VIIIB SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah Kupang in the school year 2017/2018? (2) How are the indicators of learning outcomes complete by applying a contextual approaches of student in class VIIIB SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah Kupang in the school year 2017/2018? (3) Whay is the completeness of learning outcomes to the subject matter of light of student in grade class VIIIB SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah Kupang in the school year 2017/2018? (4) How do students respect learning activities by applying a contextual approach to the subject matter of light of students in grade class VIIIB SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah Kupang in the school year 2017/2018? The type of this research is descriptive students in grade lass VIIIB SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah Kupang in the school year 2017/2018 and the subject of this are research are 25 students and the teachers as reseachers. The learning which are used in this research are sylabus, teaching materials, students work sheet, discussion sheet, question lattice.The data collection technique that is used in this study are observation , test, and questionnaire. The instrument that are used in this research is learning management observation sheet. The advice for teachers in learning process must multiply experimental activities and educators must provide suffirient time in guiding students during the experiment. This is done periodically or continuously so students are skilled and proficient in conducting experiments and they have reasoning skills
