Abstract

The guided inquiry approach is one of the teaching approaches that provides students with a direct learning experience by involving students in conducting experimental activities to investigate and find themselves so that they can help students understand the concept of the material being studied. The general problem in this study is how the results of applying the guided inquiry approach to heat subject matter and transfer to students of class VII F in SMP Negeri 6 of Kota Kupang in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year? In detail the problems in this study can be formulated as follows: 1) How is the teacher's ability to manage learning by applying the guided inquiry approach to heat subject matter and transfer to students of class VII F SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year? 2) How is the completeness of student learning outcomes indicators by applying the guided inquiry approach to heat subject matter and transfer to students of class VII F in SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year? 3) What is the completeness of the learning outcomes of students by applying the guided inquiry approach to the subject matter of heat and transfer to students of class VII F in SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year? 4) What is the response of students to learning by applying the guided inquiry approach to the subject matter of heat and transfer to students in class VII F in SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year? Based on the formulation of the problems that have been raised, the purpose of this study is to describe the results of the application of guided inquiry approach to heat subject matter and transfer to students of class VII F SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year. In detail the objectives of this study are: 1) Describe the ability of the teacher in managing learning by applying the guided inquiry approach to heat subject matter and transfer to students of class VII F SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year. 2) Describe the completeness of the indicators of learning outcomes of students by applying the guided inquiry approach to the subject matter of heat and transfer to students of class VII F SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year. 3) Describe the completeness of the learning outcomes of students by applying the guided inquiry approach to the subject matter of heat and its transfer to students of class VII F in SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of the 2018/2019 academic year. 4) Describe the response of students to learning by applying guided inquiry to the subject matter of heat and transfer to students of class VII F SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year. The type of research is descriptive research. Subjects in this study were teachers (researchers) and students of class VII F (30 students). The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research design used is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection techniques used were observation, tests, and questionnaires. The instruments used were observation and assessment of learning management (planning, implementation and evaluation), cognitive learning outcomes tests, affective learning outcome assessment sheets, psychomotor learning outcomes assessment sheets, and student response sheets. Based on the results of research and data analysis that has been done, the results obtained that the application of guided inquiry in heat subject matter and transfer to students in class VII F in SMP Negeri 6 of Kupang Town in the semester I of 2018/2019 school year was optimal.
