Abstract

Education requires an atmosphere off effective learning, so as to create learning that can develop the pontential of student. Problem faced by student at Kupang Junior High School 13, many student get school exam score below the minimum completeness standard, this is because the leraning strategy is offten applied in biologi learning lecture's and question and answer. Therefore we need a leraning model that can overcome this problem is by applying the learning model discovery learning. This study is to determine the effect of the model discovery learning against the learning outcomes of class VIII student of the material motion in plants at Kupang 13 Junir High School in 2018/2019 school year. The research design used is Nonrandomized Control group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data is collected through observation and tests. Data analysis tekhniques using descriptive analysis, inferential analysis and analysis of covariance one way. The result showed that the value of learning outcomes affter being treated by applying the discovery learning model namely 81.5 significantly higher if compared with students who aplly direct learning. The result of this study indicate that there is an influence of discovery learning models against student learning outcomes with probability scores (sig.) 0,000 <0,05. The ability of teacher to manage learning models of discovery learning and direct learning is included in the good category with the average score the discovery learning model is 98.22 %, whereas direct learning 93.97 %. The Conclusion of this study that discovery and leraning directly affect against class VIII student learning outcomes on motion material on plants in Kupang 13 Junior High School in 2018/2019 school year.
