Abstract

Problem Based Learning Model is a learning model with a learning approach to students on an authentic problem to increase creativity and high level thinking skills. The background in this study is simple machine subject matter that relates to real and experienced daily life of students. The general problem in this study is how the results of the implementation of learning based models of simple machine materials in VIII F class students of SMPN 2 Kupang odd semester academic year 2018/2019? The specifications of the problem are: 1) How is the teacher's ability to manage learning activities by applying problem based learning models to simple machine subject matter for students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year? 2) How is the completeness of the learning outcome indicator by applying the problem based learning model of simple machine subject matter to VIII F grade students of SMPN 2 Kupang in the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year? 3) How is the learning outcomes of students by applying the problem based learning model of simple machine subject matter to students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year? 4) How do students respond to the learning process by applying problem based learning models to simple machine subject matter for students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in 2018/2019 school year? The purpose of this study in general is to describe the results of the application of the model of learning based on simple machine main problem for students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang Academic Year 2018/2019. In particular, the purpose of this study is: 1) Describe the ability of teachers in managing learning activities by applying problem based learning models to simple machine subject matter for students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in the 2018/2019 school year. 2) Describe the completeness of the learning outcomes indicator by applying the problem based learning model of simple machine subject matter to students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year. 3) Describe the learning outcomes of students by applying problem based learning models to simple machine subject matter for students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year. 4) Describe the response of students to the learning process by applying problem based learning models to simple machine subject matter for students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in the odd semester of 2018/2019 academic year. This type of research is descriptive research. Subjects in this study were teachers (researchers) and students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year totaling 32 students. The design used in this study is One-Group Pretest-Postest Design. Learning tools used are syllabus, Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), Student Worksheets (LKPD), Student Learning Materials (BAPD. The technique used in selecting research subjects of grade VIII F students of SMPN 2 Kupang is a purposive sampling technique (the sample aims). Data collection techniques used are observation, tests and questionnaires. While the instrument used in this study is a learning management observation sheet by applying a simple machine subject matter based learning model, cognitive learning result (THB) test lattice, learning outcome test grid (THB) process, result test grid psychomotor learning (THB), affective learning outcome test (THB) and student response sheets. The data analysis technique of this research is descriptive analysis by calculating the average score, proportion, and percentage. Based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis, the research data shows that in general the application of problem based learning models in simple machine subject matter students of class VIII F SMPN 2 Kupang in the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year is optimal.
