Abstract

Numbered Head Together is a model focuses on the students activities on searching, processing, and reporting the information from various were finally presented in front of the class. The main problem of this research is how results of “The Application of Cooperative Learning Model Numbered Head Together (NHT) using Light Subject Matter for Students of Grade Eight E SMP NEGERI 1 KUPANG Even Semester in The Academic Year 2017/2018? Specifically, the problem of the research are : 1) How is the teacher's ability to manage learning by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model? 2) How are the cooperative skills of students in learning activities by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model? 3) What is the completeness of the indicators of learning outcomes of students in learning by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model? 4) How is the completeness of the learning outcomes of students in learning by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model? 5) How do students respond to learning by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model? Based on the objectives problem above, then the objective to be achieved in this study is “ to describe the results of the application of the cooperative model NHT type light subject matter for students of Grade Eight E SMP NEGERI 1 KUPANG Even semester in the academic Year 2017/2018”. Specifically, the objectives of the research are : 1) To describe the teacher's ability to manage learning by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model. 2) To describe the cooperative skills of students in learning activities by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model. 3) To describe the completeness of the indicators of learning outcomes of students in learning by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model. 4) To describe the completeness of the learning outcomes of students in learning by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model 5) To describe students respond to learning by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model? The type of research is descriptive research. The subject of the research is students of Grade Eight E SMP Negeri 1 Kupang Even Semester in the Academic Year 2017/2018 totaling 31 students and teachers (researcher). The technique used in determining the subject of this research was purposive sampling technique and data collection techniques in this study were observation, tests, and questionnaires. While the instruments in this study are Learning Management Observation Sheets (Learning Assessment Sheets, Learning Implementation Observation Sheets, and Learning Evaluation Assessment Sheets), Student Learning Skills Observation Sheet, Learning Outcomes Test, and Student Response Questionnaire. The analysis of research results is quantitative descriptive analysis including calculating the average score, percentage and proportion. Descriptive analysis results obtained that the teacher's ability to manage learning by applying the Cooperative Learning Model Type Numbered Head Together (NHT) light subject matter for Students of Grade Eight E SMP Negeri 1 Kupang that includes: learning planning, implementation of learning, and evaluation of learning were included in good categories. The cooperative skills of students which include: being in assignments, taking turns and sharing assignments, encouraging participation, listening actively and asking questions or answering were all within the limits of effectiveness. Indicators of cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes were all complete. The response of students to NHT type learning activities consisting of five aspects all categorized very well. Based on the description above, it can be said that the application of the NHT type cooperative learning model to students of Grade Eight E of SMP Negeri 1 Kupang was optimal.
