Abstract

Interest in learning is one of the internal factors that affect learning outcomes, coming from within a person. Learning outcomes are the values obtained by students covering cognitive aspects. Learning interest is the tendency of the heart of a person or participant in the form of pleasure and interest in learning without coercion. learning model Discoverylearning is a model of learning in which learners find the concept through a series of data or information obtained through observation or experiment. The formulation of the problem in this study are: 1) What is the learning interest of students by applyinglearning model to discovery the subject matter of heat and its transfer to students of class VII SMP 11 Kupang in the 2018/2019 academic year ?; 2) What is the cognitive learning outcomes of students by applyinglearning model to discovery the subject matter of heat and transfer to students of class VII SMP 11 Kupang in the 2018/2019 academic year ?; 3) Is there a significant effect between learning interest on students' cognitive learning outcomes by applyinglearning models discovery to the subject matter of heat and their transfer to grade VII studentsIs Kupang Negeri 11 Kupang the 2018/2019 school year? The purpose of this study are: 1) to find out the learning interest of students by applyinglearning model to discovery the subject matter of heat and its transfer to students of class VII SMP 11 Kupang in the 2018/2019 school year; 2) to find out the cognitive learning outcomes of students by applyinglearning model to discovery the subject matter of heat and its transfer to students of class VII SMP 11 Kupang in the 2018/2019 school year; 3) to determine the significant effect of learning interest on students' cognitive learning outcomes by applyinglearning model discovery learning to heat subject matter and its transfer to students of class VII SMP 11 Kupang in the 2018/2019 school year. The type of research used is descriptive research and research associative. The population in this study were class VII students of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang, the sample was students of class VIIE of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang, taken bymethod random sampling. The results showed that: 1) Learning outcomes in the learning process by applyinglearning model discovery learning to heat subject matter and the transfer of students in class VIIE of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang was complete; 2) Learning interest of students in class VIIE of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang is in a very good category with an average score of 80%; 3) There is a significant effect between students' learning interest on learning outcomes by applyinglearning models discovery learning to heat subject matter and its transfer to students of class VIIE of SMP Negeri 11 Kupang.
