Abstract
Talau river is one of the rivers located in Fatukbot Village, Atambua subdistrict, Belu Regency. Talau rivers has a relatively good forest ecosystems such as bushes, grasses, and trees, which play an important role in the development of the rivers, one of which is a place for shelter and sources of litter for animals, one of which is a place for shelter and sources of litter for animals, one of which is insects. Insects are part of biodiversity that must also be protected from extinction of species diversity. This study aims to determine the diversity of insects species and to determine differences in the types of insect diversity in the riparian zones in the Talau of Fatukbot Village, Belu Regency. This research on insect diversity in the riparian zones in the Talau River, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara has been carried out on 5-10 November 2019. This study used the pitfall trap and net swing method. The results obtained indicate differences in insect diversity in riparian zones, ie destroyed forests, natural forests, and agricultural land indicate that the diversity of incesct species at the same, namely station 1 forest that was destroyed with a value (3,024), whereas at station 2 the natural forests had a diversity values (3,211), and at station 3 agricultural land has a diversity value (3,189).
