Abstract

Talau River is an open an area that along with the river flow there were various types of human activities such as plantation, swimming pool, water collection, sandstone collection, and transportation. All these activities have a direct impact on the stability of the river ecosystem as well as the riparian ecosystem. The purpose of this research is to know the type of disturbance, the level of diversity of the riparian vegetation, and the relationship between levels of disturbance with plant diversity in the riparian ecosystem. The research area consists of three types of riparian namely teak plantation area (as station A), mixed forest (as station B) and farmland (as station C). The method used was the Quadrant method. Determination of sample size based on the species-area curve. The Data is calculated using a Shanon-Wiener diversity index, Simpson dominancy index, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed two types of disorders of Talau's riparian ecosystem, which were natural and non-natural. On station A found 33 plant species belonging in 24 families, station B found 59 plant species belonging in 31 families and station C found 29 plant species belonging in 21 families. The average diversity index on station A was categorized as tree stratum (medium), shrub stratum (low), station B was categorized well and station C was relatively low. The dominancy index indicates that tree stratum in station A with D = 0.87 and the bush stratum with D = 0,811, In station B with D = 0,914 for plant stratum and shrub stratum with D = 0,913, In station C with D = 0,776 for tree stratum and shrub stratum with D = 0,824. The conclusion in this study was that there is a connection between diversity and the abiotic factor and disturbance factors both natural and non-natural.
