Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identified by the maceration method, phytochemical screening, chromatography and spectrophotometry. Extraction of 200 grams of dried lenglengan leaf obtained 97.18 grams thick ethanol extract with a yield of 48.59%. The phytochemical test results show positive alkaloid compounds, saponins and tannins. Ethanol is done in separation with dietyhil ether-water and n-butanol-water produces n-butanol fraction. n-butanol extract is performed thin layer chromatography and obtained 5 spots. Test saponins of each spot with the reagent of Liebermann Burchard and spot with Rf 0.28 and 0.45 positive containing saponins compound. N-butanol extract is fractionated by column chromatography using chloroform-methanol-water eluen (13:7:2) and obtained 25 fractions. The resulting fraction is then carried out with the TLC and acquired Fraction 7 and 8 with the value of Rf 0.928 and then it is attached. Isolates are dissolved in ethanol and the identification of compounds using spectrophotometers of UV-Vis and IR. The identification results with UV-Vis spetrophotometer indicate absorption at a maximum wavelength of 260 nm. Whereas the results of IR spectrophotmeter showed the existence of vibrations of the OH alcohol group vibrations (3354,21 cm-1 , 3346,5 cm-1 and 3334,92 cm-1), aliphatic CH stretches (2974,23 cm-1, 2927,94 cm-1 and 2887,44 cm-1), stretching C = C alkenes (1650 cm-1), bending CH on CH2 (1454,33 cm-1), bending CH on CH3 (1417,68 cm-1 and 1381,03cm-1), bending OH (1328,95cm-1), stretching of CO ether and alcohol (1089,78cm-1 and 1049,28 cm-1) and CH alkene bending (881,47 cm-1 and 663,51 cm-1). Based on the results of the analysis of the UV-Vis spectrophometers and IR that the isolates contain the steroidal saponins compounds.
