Abstract

Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is a learning concept that helps teachers associate between the material they teach and the real-world situation of students and encourage students to make connections between the knowledge they have and their application in their daily lives. The main objective in this study is to describe the learning outcomes by applying the contextual learning approach of Static Fluid subject students of grade XI Science in the odd semester of the Lighthouse Christian High School in Kupang academic year 2017/2018. " Specifically the objectives of this study can be described as follows: 1. Describe the ability of the teacher in managing learning activities by applying a contextual approach to the Static Fluid subject of students in grade XI Science odd semester of Lighthouse Christian High School in the academic year 2017/2018. 2. Describe the completeness of the Learning Outcomes Indicator (IHB) in learning by applying a contextual approach to the Static Fluid subject matter for students of class XI Science odd semester of Lighthouse Christian High School Kupang academic year 2017/2018. 3. Describe the learning outcomes of students in learning by applying a contextual approach to the subject matter Static Fluid students XI IPA odd semester Christian High School Christian Kupang 2017/2018 school year. 4. Describe the response of students to learning activities by applying a contextual approach to the subject matter Static Fluid students XI IPA odd semester of Lighthouse Christian High School in Kupang academic year 2017/2018. This type of research is descriptive research and the subjects of this study were 23 students of the Kupang Kupang Christian High School Science Class, and the teacher (researcher). The technique of selecting the subjects of students used in this study is purposive sampling technique. The learning tools used are Syllabus, Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), Student Learning Materials (BAPD), Student Worksheet (LKPD), student discussion sheets (LDPD). Data collection techniques used to collect data in this study are Observations, Tests and Questionnaire. The instrument used in this study is the Learning Management Management Sheet, Learning Outcomes Test (THB) and Student Response Questionnaire. The data analysis technique of this research is descriptive analysis by calculating the average value, percentage, and proportion. Based on the results of descriptive analysis, the research data said that the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach was optimal for static fluid subject matter for students in class XI of Christian High School of Lightning, the odd semester of 2017/2018 academic year, totaling 23 people. In detail as follows: The ability of teachers to manage learning activities by applying discovery learning learning models which include: learning planning, implementation of learning and evaluation of learning are included in both categories. Outcome Indicators Cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning prepared all is complete. The cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes of students are generally complete. The response of students to the implementation of learning by applying discovery learning model is in a very good category.
